Company brochure

We have been trading agricultural products abroad for 33 years. Founded in 1990 by Mrs. István Ambrus Ambrus, the company was initially known as Ambrus Export Import. In the course of continuous profiling, it was transformed into a sole proprietorship and then into the present partnership, in which form we have been operating since 1996. The name, registered office, tax number and ownership have remained unchanged since the beginning.

Export:

Our foreign customers are mainly traders and canners in Western European countries. Mainly from Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, but we also supply to many other countries. To meet the needs of our foreign customers, we most often offer the following products produced in Hungary:

  • Oily seeds (mustard seeds, linseeds, sunflower seeds)
  • Cereals (food and feed wheat, maize, barley, etc.)

Based on the recent increased interest from our Swiss and Dutch partners, we are also looking to expand our export activities to organic products. The main demand for larger quantities is for organic cereals (wheat, maize, spelt), but there is also interest in organic oilseeds (pumpkin seeds, etc.). It is important to know that for deliveries to our largest partner interested in organic products (organic cereals), being a Swiss company, a certificate from the Swiss inspection body Bio-Suisse is required.

Import:

Our domestic partners are packers, wholesalers and gastro companies nationwide, as well as some retail chains. Our import activities cover their needs for the following products:

  • Rice (white rice "A" and "B" quality, parboiled rice, Jasmine rice, Basmati rice, brown rice, etc.)
  • Legumes (beans, lentils, peas, chickpeas)
  • Oily seeds (linseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, etc.)
  • Nuts and nuts (walnuts, Brazil nuts, Turkish hazelnuts, groundnuts, almonds, pistachios, cashew nuts, etc.)
  • Dried fruits (raisins, prunes, dried apricots, dried cherries, blueberries, etc.)
  • Healthy lifestyle and other food grains (chia, quinoa, couscous, bulgur, etc.)

Rice products are imported into Hungary mainly from Italy and Greece, and occasionally from the Far East. We mainly buy directly from millers. From both large and medium sized companies. We are also in contact with many smaller family millers through our long-standing dealer contacts and agents.

Imported pulse products are mainly bought from traders located in the immediate vicinity of major European ports, who have extensive supplier and direct producer-processor links in the pulse countries of origin (USA, Canada, China, Ethiopia) and buy in bulk from there.

If the domestic poppy crop needs to be supplemented and there is a demand for imports - we will try to meet this demand with imports (from the Netherlands or the Czech Republic).
